Summer

I haven’t posted in awhile. I find during the summer when not at work …. I want to be as far away from the computer as possible. But did want to post a few summer photos I’ve taken. This is such a time of joy for me from gardening to photography to just listening to the tree frogs singing at night. Everything is alive and I’m soaking it up while I can. Hope you are having an equally beautiful summer.

New life

The other day a mama left her newborn “hidden” in the mulch by our house, while she got some nourishment. I read the mother will leave her fawn well-hidden for hours at a time while feeding. If she has more than one fawn, she hides them in separate places. While they are waiting for their mother to return, the fawns lay on the ground with their heads and necks stretched out flat on the ground. This makes it harder for predators to find them. In this case, the mom left this little one only a short while and it was gone within a couple of hours. But am so happy I was able to get a few photos of it! Even living in the woods we don’t see this very often.

Yoga for mind and body

Had the most amazing yoga class at our local Buddhist temple yesterday evening. This was the first time I’d taken a class there and I loved it. It is exactly how I feel yoga should be. So much good energy there. I left feeling as if I were floating on a cloud. And it wasn’t just me. When class was over, all of us who attended were sitting in the entrance area putting on our shoes and talking about what an amazing experience we had and how peaceful we felt. I think we all regretted having to leave. Happy Friday!
